Chaunté Gilmore is a fourth-generation Oklahoman, healthcare professional, and community advocate who believes leadership starts with taking care of people. Raised and rooted in Northwest Oklahoma City, her work is shaped by family, faith, and a deep responsibility to the place that raised her.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant and Director of Rehabilitation, Chaunté works alongside patients and care teams every day. She understands healthcare as lived experience, not theory. That day-to-day work informs how she thinks about dignity, access, and accountability in systems that directly affect people’s lives.
Her commitment to service extends into civic leadership and advocacy. Chaunté serves as Director Emeritus of New Leaders Council Oklahoma, sits on the Oklahoma Advisory Board for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, and is an alumna of Leadership Oklahoma City. She was inducted into the OKC Young Professionals Hall of Fame in 2023 for her community impact. She is currently a member of the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy Leadership Class and the Oklahoma City Rotary Club, continuing her focus on policies and partnerships that support children, families, and working communities.
Service is a constant throughline in her life. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Junior League of Oklahoma City, and the Order of the Eastern Star PHA, Chaunté is committed to service that is local, relational, and consistent. That grounding led her to run twice for Oklahoma House District 100, centered on strengthening public education, expanding opportunity, and improving healthcare access. In 2024, she lost the race by 287 votes.
Chaunté is known as a listener, a connector, and someone who shows up. She believes leadership is less about titles and more about responsibility, and she continues to invest in Oklahoma’s future with persistence, humility, and care
